RESTORATIONS
One of the joys of of owning a garage is that you meet meet all sorts of people. for some owning and driving an historic vehicle is a pleasure. We at 4x4LRS are commited to helping retain our British heritage of vehicle building. It is with more than pleasure that we collaborate with historic vehicle owners to keep such vehicles on the road
Our latest restoration project is a bit different from the tidy up, get through the MOT we normally undertake, on behalf of a customer we have taken a 1967 Series 2A Landrover and are undertaking a ground up restoration
This is no small undertaking, every element of this vehicle will be refurbished , or if needed replaced with an age related part, just sourcing the parts needed is a major undertaking
We share the owners passion for this this project and involve them every step of the way, working to a previously agreed budget 4x4LRS are committed to bringing this old gal back to life
The owners are not millionares, just people with a passion and we at 4x4LRS understand that. At the start of this project we gave a realistic quote for what it would cost and we are pleased to say as the project nears completion it looks like we were close to what we thought
Restoration is not for the faint hearted, and we will be honest, unless you have a passion for your vehicle the costs to refurbish will probably never be recouped. but for the owners of Bertha (Pictured above)it was never about the money, it was about bringing the old girl back to her glory - and to be honest for us it was about that too.
We feel honoured that the owners of Bertha felt 4x4LRS can take on this huge task and are determined to give Bertha back to her owners in a state that befits her heritage and status as a historic vehicle.
We can take on your restoration project on your behalf, and will willingly do so. Our motoring heritage needs preserving and we want to take an active part in doing so.
